Creative Lead

focused on social good and education.

By having an expansive background in graphic design, video production, animation, photography, and writing, I've had the freedom to focus my career on what I love most—contributing to causes that make the world a bit better.

What makes me different?

  • Normally, this is seen as a detriment (“Jack of all trades, master of none” right?).

However, I’ve had the time and opportunity to hone in on each craft throughout my career, not only gaining surface-level exposure to them, but developing a deep understanding of them. The result is a well-rounded creative perspective—I can approach a problem and determine what creative solution will best serve the situation, as well as lead and mentor other creatives with empathy and understanding.

  • Have you ever watched or read something and thought to yourself, “This is WAY too complicated to comprehend.”? I can take that piece of content and easily figure out where the unnecessarily complex parts are.

This is because I have a bit of a cheat code—I have chronic migraines. Normally, this would be a hinderance to creativity, but it actually serves as an important tool for me. If I look at something and it starts to trigger a bit of pain, I know it’s using too much cognitive load, and my migraines serve as a blueprint on how to re-work it to make it more digestible.

  • I love being exposed to different mediums, different perspectives, and different ways of doing things.

Anything that can expand my mind and improve my work is my jam. I follow different Slack communities, regularly going down YouTube rabbit holes, dive deep into random subreddits, and attend conferences like VidCon, Learning Solutions, Motion, and NerdCon Stories.

There are a ton of creative leads out there, but here’s how I stand out.

“Kat is a Swiss‐army knife with a wide range of talents and skills. She has tackled every project thrown her way with a level of quality and detail that that always exceeded my exceptions.”
